What should the credit line say?

Include the following at the top of the republished article text: This article [hyperlink to the original version of the article] was produced by Capital & Main. It is republished here with permission.

If your system does not allow for a credit at the top of the text, you may place the credit line in italics at the bottom of the story or in a text box near the top.

What should the copyright notice say?

Include the following, in italics, at the bottom of the republished article: Copyright 2026 Capital & Main

Can I alter or edit the text of the story?

Changes are allowed to maintain accuracy of time elements (e.g., “last week” may become “last month” as time passes). For any other changes please contact us to get our approval.

In certain cases you may republish a shortened version of a story, but only with Capital & Main’s permission. Contact us to make sure the edits are OK before republishing. 

Can I change the headline?

Please use the Capital & Main headline. If you would like to use an altered headline that factually reflects the story, you may do so only with Capital & Main’s permission. Contact us to make sure the edits are OK.

What about translations?

Some Capital & Main articles are translated into Spanish, and those stories can be republished too.

Are there exceptions?

Our photos may only be used with the story they appeared in, or to promote it, and may not be used in any other story or context. 

Can you provide original, high-resolution images?

Yes. If we grant permission to use our photos or illustrations we should be able to send high-resolution files, if needed.
