Lynne Thompson served as the 2021-22 poet laureate for the city of Los Angeles and received a Laureate Fellowship from the Academy of American Poets in 2022. She is the author of three collections of poetry, most recently Fretwork (Marsh Hawk Press, 2019). Her fourth collection, Blue on A Blue Palette will be published by BOA Editions in 2024. Thompson is a current trustee and former chair of the board of trustees for Scripps College. She also serves on the boards of Cave Canem, The Poetry Foundation, the Los Angeles Review of Books.
