Frank Alvarez

Frank joined LAANE in November 2011 as the senior community organizer for the Construction Careers Project. Prior to joining LAANE, he was a program director for LA CAUSA YouthBuild managing their AmeriCorps, Mentoring, and Leadership programs. Frank developed his organizing skills as a founding member of the Youth Justice Coalition, a nonprofit organization that addresses the education and rehabilitation needs of incarcerated youth in Los Angeles County juvenile detention centers. Frank was born and raised on the East Side of Los Angeles where he currently resides. He is a committed member of the City and County of Los Angeles who believes you don’t have to leave the neighborhood you grew up in to find a better life. This belief has led Frank on a lifelong path to fight for a just society where people have a real opportunity to pursue their dreams.
